Time to move on… Studio Update

IMPORTANT STUDIO UPDATE….

I have some news…  I have taken the decision to move out of my art studio, and sadly, will be gone by the end of March 2017…

The future ownership of the art centre is currently very uncertain.    I have been unable to promote open days, plan exhibitions or workshops because of this uncertainty, which looks set to continue for some time to come.   In truth, nobody knows what the outcome will be, and I’ve decided I can’t run my business on this basis.

I signed up to do Bucks Open Studios in January.   The print deadline was this weekend.   My whole marketing strategy is around visit my studio / buy art / materials / supplies / workshops, etc.    I couldn’t let this marketing material go out, not knowing if I would still have a studio there in June.    Therefore, the Bucks Open Studios deadline forced my hand, and I have sadly, taken the decision to leave.   (I will be doing Bucks Open Studios from St John’s Church Parish Room instead now, more on that nearer the time.)

Fortunately, a house renovation project we’ve had going on has progressed sufficiently to enable me to store my materials in one of the new rooms for now.

I will continue doing exhibitions, running external workshops, and selling encaustic art supplies, so do get in touch if there’s anything you need.

It has been an emotional week, with many highs and lows… but now the decision has been made, I can at least move forward and respond to current requests with certainty.

I am pretty sure I have contacted everybody who either had workshops booked, or had enquired about dates… If not… PLEASE DO GET IN TOUCH…

If you had been planning to visit, and would still like to…. THERE IS STILL TIME…!

I have two final workshops dates planned, which have JUST THREE SPACES available…

This Thursday 16th March, I will be holding a workshop from 9am – 3pm, which has two spaces available.  Aimed at people who have used wax before, but could benefit from some extra ideas and inspiration.    This is a one off fun, creative ‘go with the flow’ workshop… Iron / Stylus in the morning.   Hotplate / Hot Air Gun in the afternoon, using Arts Encaustic waxes.   Flexible according to your ability.    £70 with own materials, £90 using my materials.  (Can use my hotplate and heat guns in afternoon)   A definite for anyone who likes their own creative fun time…!

Thursday 23rd & Friday 24th March, I have a two day R&F workshop, which is £240 including materials, which has one space available.   (Full details on website workshops page)

These are the only definite workshops I have planned for the foreseeable future, unless you want to take a look at my online course learning.    Everything I cover on the four week Paint with an Iron course, recorded and learn at your own pace…

Or, the shorter alternative version, focusing on Fantasy Landscapes…

Reply to this e-mail straight away to book one of those last three spaces. You can say you were one of the last people to do a workshop in my old studio…!

Here’s my most recent feedback…. “The most perfect way to share time with friends and truly loose myself, it is every bit as relaxing as I hoped.  You were fabulous.

On a recent exhibition success with the lady from Norway,  “I must say that I would never have made it without your wonderful tuition THANK YOU!!!

E-mail me, I will reply with payment and confirmation details.

If you want materials, or artwork before I go…

I will be spending a lot of time at my studio, packing and sorting between now and the end of the month, so feel free to drop by if you would like to.

Dates I will NOT be available for drop ins are Thurs 16th, Tuesday 21st, Thursday 23rd, Friday 24th and Wednesday 29th.

Other than that, I will be there A LOT, but with no set hours, so please call, or reply to this mail to check if you’re making a special trip.

Let me know ASAP if there was anything you’re wanting to buy, as I will be bringing my equipment home in phases, and not one big clear out at the end.

I am unearthing lots of old treasures as I sort things out, so you may find prints, unframed originals and ad hoc items which haven’t been seen before.

I have lots  of other exhibitions, talks and demos for private groups.  So, although I have no studio, it doesn’t mean that’s the last you’ll hear of me…!

I will take a breather storing my equipment at my house for a while, then decide on next steps from there.

If you know of local art studio rentals, please do let me know.   It’s good to know what options are available.

They say when one door closes, another one opens… Lets see what opens up next…

So, don’t forget… Dates I will NOT be available for drop ins are Thurs 16th, Tuesday 21st, Thursday 23rd, Friday 24th and Wednesday 29th March other than that, call or text on 07976 700737 if you want to visit, or e-mail julie@julieannsgallery.co.uk to book one of those three workshop places.

I hope to see a few of you before I go…!

Julie. x
