In How To Paint With Encaustic Wax

Welcome to a World of Encaustic Wax How To’s..!

I’m so excited that you’re curious about encaustic painting – that is, creating with molten wax! It’s a medium unlike any other, and once you understand the basics, it’s as limitless as your imagination.

I could talk endlessly about all the ways to paint with wax—because truly, there’s no one way.

Some people come to encaustic thinking, “I can’t even draw a straight line.” They fall in love with it.   Professional artists use encaustic to create fine art.

Others enjoy it as a hobby, a playful escape, a way to reconnect with creativity.

It’s versatile, forgiving, and deeply expressive. It can be a fun, accessible entry into art, or a serious investment in skill, tools, and technique – the beauty is, you get to choose.

Discover Encaustic: High Heat vs. Low Heat

There are two main encaustic styles:

High Heat – Using heated tools to fuse multiple layers of wax.
Low Heat – Exploring wax techniques with minimal heat.

Both are interchangeable, and I love creating with both.
