Update from Cornwall

 In Julie's Life Musings

Things have been a bit quiet from me in recent months, mostly because I’ve moved into a new house, back ‘home’ in North Cornwall…!

You might remember that this has always been in the big plan, however, these things take time I’ve discovered!  Anyhow, a couple of months ago, we picked up the keys to our new home at Wainhouse Corner.  The photo above is of a sunset shortly after we moved in, the view across our garden…

I’ve set my office up now, and I love looking out at the sea, up the coast towards Bude, whilst at my desk.

We have sheep and cattle grazing in the field outside, and the place is strategically placed with a bus stop, shop, garage and a pub across the road!   (All things you might recall, that were sadly lacking at my previous studio venues!)

We are still giving the place a fresh lick of paint, and unpacking boxes, it’s lovely finding things that we packed up over a year ago… we are also still up and down to Hertfordshire as we wrap up loose ends up there, it’s been a lot!

Stage two will be getting an art studio built, we have a few options, and I can not tell you how excited I am to get a full encaustic studio set up again.  I’ve created a few paintings this past year, but not nearly as many as I’d like.   I must be patient a little longer, it will all come at the right time.

When it’s all set up, my Arty Heaven Art Studio will be open once again, for art, workshops, and encaustic supplies… and I can’t wait to invite you all in…!

Luckily, being a member of The Bloomz Arthouse has kept my creative itch scratched… and my Jet Black Squares Smartphone Photography is providing a fantastic outlet whilst I don’t have a physical space to work from… I have some amazing photos that I can’t wait to incorporate into photo encaustic works.

I’ve also started upgrading my technical solutions, I’ve found an all in one system, that I am loving… and so far, it appears to actually work!!  Rather than individual systems, that don’t speak to each other, newsletters, online course platforms, website, etc. etc. etc. I am in the process of transferring that over, and getting myself out of technical limbo land, all great foundations for the next chapter.

I’ve created my first encaustic resource on the new system – ‘Colourful Collages with Encaustic Wax’ as a free course… if you’re an encaustic artist, or would like to give it a try, I’d love you to check it out, and give me any feedback you might have, it’s totally free, just sign up and all the info should be sent to you… I hope you find it useful… please drop me a message and let me know, it’ll be great to get some feedback on the content, and the new platform from a user perspective. I plan to transfer all of my other online courses over, and give them all an upgrade… my first courses were created in 2016… so it’s definitely time for a refresh!

Anyhow, I just wanted to explain my silence, and to let you know that as soon as my new Arty Heaven studio plans are ready to share, you’ll be the first to know!

Don’t forget to check out my: https://courses.artyheaven.com/collage-wax resource and let me know how you find it!
